Summer is fire season in BTB feng shui. The height of summer means long days filled with sunshine and warm temps… hopefully! Hot, not too hot.
But the fire element means so much more than sunshine, heat and campfires. On the bagua map the Fame and Reputation gua is associated with fire. Fire represents love, passion, creativity and vitality. It relates to the eyes and heart so being seen and doing what you love are important. If you are looking to get your name out there whether it’s to get a new job, start a business, a new activity or even start dating it’s a good idea to look at the qualities of fire and maybe invite more of them into your home.
Here are five tips to help you heat up your life with fire.
- Fire is represented by triangle shapes but also having things on an angle. If you want to spice up your work situation, consider putting your desk on an angle. I’ve heard stories of how powerful this can be!You can also invite in imagery or objects that are triangular in shape.
- Do you want to get noticed in that job interview or in your online profile? Wear something red. You can also invite the colour red into your home to help you embrace that fiery energy if passion and creativity are important to you.
- Embrace fire. Outside fires are lovely and fun but lighting candles or stringing fairy or patio lights works as well. There are so many pretty options for string lights available these days. I’d buy them all if I had places to put them!
- Get out more. Harness the energy of the long days by attending social events and meeting new people. Is there an activity that you’d like to try? Tap into the vitality and energy of this time of year and push yourself out of your comfort zone.
- Embrace the number nine. It’s the number related to the Fame and Reputation gua so if you need an extra umph to get you going think about incorporating the number nine in a fun way. Try something new for nine days straight, invite nine new things into your home or garden (maybe nine new red plants in your garden?!) or reach out to nine friends or colleagues. You can make it fun in whatever way works for you.
Maybe I should’ve offered you nine tips but I don’t want to overwhelm you. One of the tenants of feng shui is to do something with intention. So pick one or two items on this list, visualize your end result or goal as you do the adjustment and then keep your eyes and heart open!
If you do embrace the fire energy of summer then I’d *love* to hear from you!
