Take a look at the natural world around you. If you do spend time outside, have you noticed there are fewer animals around, only a few hardy birds and no bugs! And we all know that bears have headed into hibernation for the next few months.

💕🌷How can buying yourself flowers help you f 💕🌷How can buying yourself flowers help you find ‘the one’?! 🌷💕
Join me for my free webinar next Tuesday evening and I’ll share my top feng shui tips for helping you (positively) end the dating game.
If you’ve missed my last few posts, I shared how making feng shui adjustments to my home helped me finally meet my Mr. Right. It was the first time I really thought ‘feng shui works’!
This webinar is for anyone who’s on a search for a partner.
If it doesn’t apply to you, perhaps you know someone who might enjoy it? If so, let them know!
Link is in my bio.
My gratitude for living close to all this beauty i My gratitude for living close to all this beauty is immense.
Sunday morning snowshoe to take in the freshly fallen snow and sparkly trees on Father Troy’s Trail.
Even more grateful to share it with @coffeeshopguynl ❤️🌲❄️
Feng Shui story time… A 39 year old single girl Feng Shui story time…
A 39 year old single girl walked into a bar.
She was about to go on yet another blind date. But this time felt different.
After years of looking for ‘the one’ she had finally opened up to looking at how her home contributed to her single status.
Using feng shui she made changes to make space and invite in partnership.
Probably no big surprise… that single girl was me, 10 years ago.
And that blind date…. It was the last one she went on.
I’m hosting free webinar on Feb 28th to share how I used Feng Shui to finally break the dating cycle. Link is in my bio.
I’ll also be giving you a sneak peak into my upcoming 4 Week ‘Feng Shui for Finding ‘The One’ program. It’s gonna be filled with so many gems to help you on your journey.
Mornings like this make winter more bearable, perh Mornings like this make winter more bearable, perhaps even enjoyable!
The winter has been a combo of snow then rain, grateful that our latest dump of snow hasn’t been washed away… yet.
Sunrise at Pippy Park, a perfect perch to watch the day arrive.
10 years, 10 YEARS, TEN YEARS! If someone told m 10 years, 10 YEARS, TEN YEARS!
If someone told me 10 years ago I was about to finally meet my Mr Right I probably would’ve said ‘I wish’ but not really believed them. But lo and behold he wrote me on Valentine’s Day and we met a few days after that.
It’s been an amazing 10 years with you @coffeeshopguynl. Full of lots of fun, adventure, travel and many Friday nights of pizza and Netflix at home.
We sometimes have our moments and we are both learning and growing but every day I am beyond grateful for our life.
I’ll be sharing more about how I went from perpetually single to content and committed more over the next little while.
But for now, here’s a look back of pics of just a few of our adventures from 2013-2022. It was hard to narrow down to 10 pics!
I think we’ve aged well together don’t you?
Career Goals. Give this a try! Career Goals. Give this a try!
Do you ever feel like you want something so badly Do you ever feel like you want something so badly (a new job, an opportunity, relationship, yoga pose!) that you pour all your energy into achieving that goal… only to have it continue to elude you?
I’ve 100% taken this approach in the past and it’s lead to frustration in not being able to accomplish what I want when I want it! The nerve of the universe!
In our doing (yang) world we are often hesitant to embrace the power of allowing (yin).
When I find myself striving and controlling more than I should, I only have to look to nature to tap into the power of yin energy.
Trees and plants literally bloom where they are planted and animals follow their innate instincts. There is no striving, controlling or forcing.
Getting out in nature always helps bring me back to a more even keeled state. But things like meditation, deep breathing, yin yoga also help.
One of my favourite verses from the Tao Te Ching states:
“Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear? Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself?”
If you feel tired of striving, perhaps embrace a bit more yin today?
Feng Shui success storytime. My client was looki Feng Shui success storytime.
My client was looking for a new job. She had a few job interviews but no offers.
We look at her home and office workspace setup and in both places she was literally staring at a wall when she was at her desk. Figuratively she felt like she was hitting a wall with her job search.
I suggested she add artwork with depth, a picture of moving water ideally.
Within a couple of weeks she had a job offer she accepted!
A Feng Shui consult can help you see your space with a fresh perspective. We can remove obstacles and set you up for success in any area of your life.

Cheers to the weekend! Reunited with @coffeeshopg Cheers to the weekend!
Reunited with @coffeeshopguynl for a full weekend means outdoor adventures of some sort… hopefully!
The forecast isn’t great but as my dad always likes to say ‘there’s no bad weather, just bad clothing choices’ and Roger and I do get out in all types of weather.
What are your plans for this weekend?!
The centre of your home, and any room in your home The centre of your home, and any room in your home, is related to your health.
It’s at the centre because our health affects every part of our lives and every part of our lives affects our health. The middle of the wheel so to speak.
You can apply the bagua to your home or just visualize what you think is the middle. Once you’ve figured out where it is, pay some attention to it. Clean, add plants, anything with earth tones, a feng shui crystal ball. All of these things freshen up the qi of the space.
Sometimes it’s hard to make adjustments to the middle of individual rooms but you can always sweep the floor in that area and hang a feng shui crystal ball.
When we think about our health we often don’t take into account how our homes play a part.
Applying some TLC to our spaces is giving ourselves that same care and love.
Personal qi. Personal energy. Since diving deep i Personal qi. Personal energy.
Since diving deep into feng shui I’ve focused on my personal qi as an indicator of my overall wellbeing.
It’s become a barometer that helps me decide what I need on any given day.
I pay attention to how things make me feel rather than being strict in any sort of diet or routine.
The never fail thing that always lifts my qi is being out on the trails.
Nature, in its truest form is balanced and at ease and when I’m out in it, I feel the same way.
Sometimes living on this island in the North Atlantic frustrates me (esp trying to get off and on it!) but I am forever and extremely grateful for the rugged beauty that is just outside our doors. It really does impact my life in such an uplifting way.
Embrace the yin, invite in the yang. Find balance Embrace the yin, invite in the yang. Find balance this winter season.
Balance does not mean equal, rather a constant flow.
This is a quiet time of the year, a time to stay in more and be less social and active.
Embrace the cozy with candles, blankets, nourishing foods and lots of downtime.
And then… get outside! It might seem like I contradict myself a lot with telling you to slow down while I post pics of running and hiking. But that’s where the balance comes in.
Getting outside, moving our bodies, getting fresh air in our lungs and maybe some sun on our faces helps get our personal qi flowing.
It’s harder to get outside this time of year and we may be slower moving and that’s okay. Getting out and moving is the main goal.
Tell me, what are your plans for the weekend? I’ll be doing a bit of both. Cozy evenings in with hopefully some time in the woods tomorrow.
And it will probably look something between these two pics, no snow but no t-shirt either!
Snow, I do love you and wish you’d stick around Snow, I do love you and wish you’d stick around more often during the winter months here in St. John’s.
A lot of this gorgeous snow is gone now, thanks to the rain yesterday.
I love the coziness of it, the whiteness, it’s clean and fresh and makes me feel joy.
Yes it’s a pain to clear away when it first falls but if you can get yourself out into nature, you might just find a different perspective.
Who are my fellow snow lovers? I know a few of you. Tell me what you love about snow?
🧧🐰The lunar new year is this Sunday, Jan 22n 🧧🐰The lunar new year is this Sunday, Jan 22nd and we will be welcoming in the year of the Water Rabbit.🧧🐰
It’s always nice to honour these transitions and auspicious times so here are three things you can do to say good-bye to last year and welcome in the new one.
🪟Open your windows to invite in fresh qi. If you can, open all your windows and keep them open for 9 minutes. If not, just do what you can!
💵Clean out your wallet. Get rid of old cards and receipts, organize your money and gift cards. For an extra boost, add a red envelope with nine dollars in it.
🧧Write down nine wishes for this year year, put them in a red envelope and put that over the front door of your house or your bedroom - on the inside.
I like to honour the lunar new year as I feel like I spend the first few weeks of the western new year just pulling myself together! Now I feel ready to clean out, clean up and start fresh.
Here’s to the year of the Water Rabbit!
🧧A ritual I enjoy doing every Lunar New Year.🧧
It’s a fun way to think about the upcoming year and put pen to paper to write down your thoughts.
Instead of just leaving them in your notebook, put them in a place that you pass by every day.
Next year read what you wrote and see how similar your reality was to what your dreams and wishes were at the start of the year!
If you give it a try let me know how it feels and any questions, reach out.
The words feng and shui literally translate to win The words feng and shui literally translate to wind and water, representing the unseen and seen.
The unseen energies in and around us and the things we can see and touch shape our lives.
Think about how wind and water can, over time, shape the landscape including trees and even rocks.
And there’s no easier place to see the affect of wind and water than here in Newfoundland. Head out on any hiking trail and you’ll find ever changing coastlines and tuckamore spruce trees.
The same goes for the seen and unseen in our homes. Subconsciously, over time the energy of our spaces can shape who we are.
Using the practice of Feng Shui to understand these energies can change our lives!
If you’re interested in understanding the energy of your home, reach out!
What a day to get outside and back into nature, it What a day to get outside and back into nature, it feels like it’s been a long time since we were in the woods.
In the woods surrounded by all the elements, it just calms the nervous system.
Plus I actually hiked in my t-shirt for part of it!
Roger got a little creative with his photography, I think he did a good job don’t you?
Did you get out and enjoy this warm winter day?
Other people’s energy. A couple of days ago in Other people’s energy.
A couple of days ago in my stories I talked about how I am noticing that I’m always concerned with how everyone in a group is feeling and interacting/reacting with each other.
It’s something that I’m sure I’ve been doing forever but it’s become really evident to me lately. I noticed it over Christmas and again in a meeting this week.
I also noticed that it’s causing me to feel stressed and tired! I often know I’m the only one in the room who is scanning the whole room to make sure everyone’s okay.
Now that I’m aware of it, I want to set up some boundaries. Obviously, I cannot be responsible for how others are feeling… duh! So why do I even take that on?
I do want to be an ally for those who may need my support but most people I’m around do not. They can manage themselves and if they cannot then that is their thing to deal with.
Based on the people who responded to my story, I know I am not alone. Many of us exert our energy worrying about how others are feeling. We worry about others often to the detriment of ourselves, leaving us feeling drained.
Empathetic and compassionate but with boundaries. That’s my new goal.
Honestly, I feel like everything comes back to boundaries. The idea is simple but not easy!
Hi, just me over here unlearning a lifetime of ingrained thoughts and habits!
Feng Shui for my fellow desk dwellers. Put yourse Feng Shui for my fellow desk dwellers.
Put yourself in command and take more control of your work day and career!
I love snow! I feel like our relationship with s I love snow!
I feel like our relationship with snow is either love or hate, I haven’t come across many who are ambivalent about it.
If you do hate it, I hope you don’t hate me cause I love it :-)
Sad thing about where we live is we might get a snow storm one day (as is in the forecast for today) but then rain after so that it all disappears.
This year I am going to try to embrace the snow as soon as I can after it falls, maybe a snowshoe in the dark in my future this evening?! We will see.
This pic is an oldie but I’ve kept it on my phone. I remember this day snowshoeing in Pippy Park and my friend and I made snow angels after, a bit hard to do with snowshoes on!
Tell me, are you snow nay or yay?!
